Charted is a mobile app to help teens and young adults become more connected to and engaged in their own healthcare. The app was conceived to provide the user a direct link to their medical providers. Charted has a built-in emergency contact system anyone can access. The app was designed this way in the event there is an emergency. Anyone including friends, first responders, and/or a doctor would be able to access medically necessary information, i.e.: allergies, surgeries, medical conditions, blood type and if the phone carrier is an organ donor. The emergency feature does not enable anyone other than the user access to the private medical records and information within the password protected app. Features included in the app are messages, medical records, various trackers, medications, appointments, provider search, provider chat, and a digital wallet. The provider search will allow the user to use filters to find new or location specific health care providers and facilities; including outside their residential area. The Charted app is also prepared to partner with scannable body chips that can run medical diagnostics immediately.
The design of this app is to allow younger generations to be a part of their own medical decisions, and make them more aware of their health and medical resources.
